I drew this like two years ago, before starting this blog. It’s still relevant.

A long time ago I read this Johnny Wander comic and just completely lost it laughing. Those tiny “ants” “ohmygod” labels still crack me up. My infestation was mercifully small and brief.

Precedent set for my future plans to take from the rich and give to the somewhat less rich. I can’t remember whether any of my 1808 housemates joined me in swiping those berries, but I promise the bush’s owners were not taking full advantage of their summer bounty.

It occurs to me that anyone familiar with St. Paul could read this comic and probably locate 1808. If you do….don’t rent it, ok?

….it’s knowing what to do once you’ve made them that’s hard. My friend Jen shared this on Facebook, and it made me think of the encounters like this I’ve had recently. Funny how easy it is to meet people and have a decent conversation and run into them around the neighborhood, and then find oneself sitting alone, halfway through an awesome dinner and a bottle of wine, thinking “Oh, huh, this is the sort of thing people do together.” I’m usually pretty content alone, and between the office, classes, commuting, roommates and friend-groups that tended to get together en masse, I got used to having to seek out alone time in D.C. Gotta remind myself sometimes that I currently have no shortage of alone time, and that the people who say “Hey, we should hang out sometime” probably actually mean it.

I hope there is more overlap between these two fandoms than just me and my friend Cody, who gets all kinds of credit for throwing out the Banana Stand card idea (there’s always money in it) in an email thread a few weeks ago. Either way, this was fun and a few of the cards would even be pretty cool to play with (GOB’s Card Trick raises all kinds of strategy questions! And I love the idea of scrambling to trash Iraqi Model Homes at the end of the game, or of a dumb jock card like STEVE HOLT! that looks good but isn’t actually all that useful).

I had to do lots of research for this post, by which I obviously mean rewatching the first one and a half seasons and playing crazy amounts of Dominion. Hope y’all like it.

Nothing like a selection of technical green building manuals to entertain one’s houseguests. Thanks again for the pens, Mom & Pop; as you can see I am using them to make fun of you :)

More quick comics for ya. Mom likes Christmas music, I do not, Pop does not care, Mom keeps threatening to go fetch German choral Christmas CDs from the car. The Beatles settle the dispute by being awesome.

Trying out the fabulous new pens Mom & Pop gave me for Christmas. There will be quick silly comics all week, about such diverse subjects as injuring myself on playground equipment and tragically short dreams about TV shows. Whee!
